Talks on communication, collaboration and leadership

Lena speaks at conferences, team offsites, strategy meetings and industry events. She explores communication, collaboration, conflict and leadership through the lenses of history, philosophy and neuroscience. She combines research, humour and extensive experience of working with people and organisations to show what happens beneath the surface of decisions, conflict and collaboration: how tension changes the way we think, how status shapes conversations, how trust reduces the perceived cost of risk, and how everyday micro-decisions can strengthen or undermine a team’s sense of agency.

This makes complex topics more concrete, memorable and easier to translate into everyday team practice.

Her talks work particularly well when an organisation wants to open up an important conversation, set the tone for a meeting, launch a development process or give teams a shared language for further work.

When it makes sense to work with Lena

Lena works with leaders, teams and organisations that want to have better conversations about what matters: decisions, tensions, responsibility, collaboration and change.

She works particularly in the areas of:

  • empathetic and assertive communication,
  • feedback and feedback culture,
  • conflict, mediation and restorative conversations,
  • teamwork and collaboration,
  • psychological safety,
  • public speaking, storytelling and communicating impact,
  • designing and facilitating meetings,
  • preventing discrimination, workplace bullying and other forms of harmful behaviour at work.

How Lena works

Lena works in partnership with clients, with close attention to what people and organisations can realistically take on. She does not offer ready-made answers or quick fixes. Instead, she creates the conditions for conversations in which different perspectives can be heard, situations can be clarified and more considered decisions can be made.

She is interested in what happens between people: in relationships, decisions, everyday habits and the ways we respond to tension. She sees development as a qualitative process, one that may sometimes mean taking action, sometimes pausing, and sometimes changing the way we see ourselves, other people and the way we work together.

Expertise and experience

For nearly 20 years, Lena has been supporting the development of people and organisational cultures, particularly in cultural institutions, education and the non-profit sector.

Her academic and professional background includes philosophy at the University of Warsaw, the Aleksander Zelwerowicz National Academy of Dramatic Art in Warsaw, and Gender Studies at the Polish Academy of Sciences. She is also a graduate of the Anti-Discrimination Training Academy, the postgraduate Train the Trainer programme in Nonviolent Communication at Collegium Civitas, and the Intensive Mediation Course at NVC Academy.
